In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act providing for enhanced protection of children an investigation of abuse and neglect allegations.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  The second paragraph of section fifty-one E of said Chapter 119, as appearing in the 1996 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end of the section the following new paragraph:—
Nothing in this section shall prevent the department from keeping information on unsubstantiated reports for no more than 60 months to assist in future risk and safety assessments of children and families.
Section 7. Section fifty-one of Chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1996 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following new paragraph:—
Nothing in this section shall prevent the department from keeping information on unsubstantiated reports for no more than 60 months to assist in future risk and safety assessments of children and families.
