 An Act relative to reporting child abuse.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.      Section 51B of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:-

(11) notify by telephone and by writing the local law enforcement authorities in the town in which the child resides and the town in which the offense occurred of the existence of a report required under section 51A. This notification shall take place immediately upon receipt of said report. The department shall transmit to such local law enforcement authority a copy of the report required under section 51A and forward to such local law enforcement authority a copy of the report provided to the district attorney pursuant to clause (e) of subsection (4) of this section.

 

SECTION 2. Said section 51B is hereby further amended by deleting the last sentence of of subsection (4).
