Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 181 of chapter 94 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2000 Official Edition, is thereby amended by adding the following paragraph after line 36:-
Any perishable food products put up, contained in, or packaged in any manner in advance of sale shall be accompanied by a plain and conspicuous declaration of the food product’s expiration date specifying the date after which the food should not be consumed. The expiration date may be placed on the packaging of the food product or by any other plain and conspicuous method.
