 An Act relative to small business technical assistance grants.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Chapter 139 of the acts of 2006 is hereby amended by inserting, after line item 7007-0515, the following line item:—

 

7007-xxxx For the operation of the small business technical assistance program to be administered department of business and technology; provided that said funding shall be used for the purpose of grants administered by the department to be made available to community development corporations, community development financial institutions, or non profit community based organizations for the purpose of providing technical assistance or training programs to businesses with 20 employees or fewer; and provided further, however, that no single community development corporation, community development financial institution, or non profit community based organization shall receive a grant of more than $75,000 in any one fiscal year; and provided further that the department shall annually, on or before December 31, file a report with the house and senate committees on ways and means, and the joint committee on economic development and emerging technologies………$2,000,000.
