An Act relative to professional engineers and land surveyors. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 45 of the Chapter 13 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the follow paragraphs:
Said Board shall (i) establish the requirements for registration of professional engineers and professional land surveyors for the standards of professional and ethical conduct; (ii) authorize and conduct appropriate examinations to determine the qualifications of applicants; (iii) grant certificates of registrations to qualified applicants; (iv) establish standards for continuing education, provided the board deems such standards necessary, and (v) set and administer penalties as defined in Section 81P of Chapter 112 for fraudulent , deceptive or professionally incompetent and unsafe practices and for violations of rules and regulations promulgated by said board.
Said Board shall administer the provisions of section 81D to 81T, inclusive, of said Chapter 112 and shall promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary to implement the same.
Section 45 of Chapter 13 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2004 Official Addition is further amended in line 4 by striking out the words “one registered land surveyor” and inserting in place thereof the following: - 3 registered land surveyors.
Said section 45, as so appearing, is further amended in line 10 by striking out the words “registered land surveyor” and inserting in place thereof the following: - 3 registered land surveyors.
Said section 45, as so appearing is further amended in lines 12 and 13 by striking out the word “the” each time that it appears and inserting in place thereof on each such occasion the following: - any.
