In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the storage fee for towing.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 6B of Chapter 159B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence before the third sentence of Section 6B: “Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, a city or town by vote of its council or selectmen may establish the maximum rate that may be charged for the storage of a motor vehicle towed away within its jurisdiction, but the maximum rate charged by a city or town shall not exceed the maximum rate established by the department.”
