An Act relative to further regulate the expansion of charter schools. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 89 or section 71 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following paragraph :
The Department of Education shall be prohibited from approving an application for a second charter school to any city or town with a population of 100,000 residents or less.
