In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act establishing and advisory council on vocational technical education to the board of education.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

   Section 1G of Chapter 15 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking paragraph ten and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:—The advisory council on vocational-technical education shall consist of seventeen members, appointed as follows: three employers who serve on local program advisory committees, as prescribed in Chapter 74, appointed by the Commissioner; four members appointed by the Massachusetts Teachers Association, at least one of whom shall be a of a vocational-technical teacher training program; two members appointed by the Massachusetts

Federation of Teachers; one member appointed by the Massachusetts Vocational Association; one member appointed by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators; one member appointed by the Massachusetts AFL-CIO; one member appointed by the Massachusetts High Tech Council; one member appointed by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts; one member appointed by the Bio Tech Council; one member appointed by the Massachusetts Association of School Committees; one vocational student appointed by the Commissioner, rotated annually from the statewide leadership of Massachusetts SkillsUSA — VICA, Massachusetts FFA Association and the Business Professionals Association. The advisory council shall also advise the board on school to work policies.
