In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Education shall destroy any record in its custody, care or control concerning an individual public school student’s disciplinary history or conduct no later than two years after the student’s graduation from high school or upon the student’s twenty-first birthday, whichever is earlier. The Department is authorized to maintain disciplinary and conduct records which do not identify individual students in any manner, including by name and/or identification number.
