An Act relative to the full reimbursement of 50 percent of the entitlement for public school transportation. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1I of chapter 15, sections 7A, 7B and 37D of chapter 71, section 8 of chapter 71A, and section 14 of chapter 71B of the General Laws, as so appearing, are hereby amended to require that the commonwealth shall reimburse cities and towns to the full extent of amounts expended for transportation, provided that state reimbursement of all cities’ and towns’ non-private/parochial and non-regional transportation costs, or transportation entitlement, be increased proportionately each fiscal year beginning in fiscal year 2008 until 50% of all cities’ and towns’ non-private/parochial, non-regional transportation entitlement and non-out-of-district vocational is reimbursed in fiscal year 2010.
