In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the mandatory minimum age for school attendance .

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  The Department of Education shall promulgate regulations setting one  uniform calendar date each school year for all school districts for the purpose of determining the mandatory minimum age for school attendance.  School committees may allow waivers for children not eligible for school under the mandatory minimum age if it is determined to be in the best interest of the child.
