 An Act relative to teacher certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after Section 54B the following section: -

 

Section 54C --   All elementary and secondary schoolteachers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shall be required to be certified in the administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as evidenced by the successful completion of a training course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or other agency approved by the Department of Public Health.
