In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

——————

 

 An Act prohibiting campaign signs on public property.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no

political sign may be placed or affixed to any property that is tax-

exempt, including local, state and federal property and property

owned by a non-profit.

Any candidate or campaign committee violating the provisions

of this act may be ordered to remove the sign or be punished by a

fine of not more than $100.

The city or town clerk in each municipality shall have the

authority to enforce the provisions of this act.
