 An Act providing braille ballots for blind voters.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 79 of chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1996 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the words “from blindness or other”, in lines 1 and 2, and inserting in place thereof the following:— because of a.

SECTION 2. Said section 79 of said chapter 54, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following sentence:— A sufficient number of ballots in braille and large print shall be made available to voters suffering from blindness or poor vision.

SECTION 3. Section 98 of said chapter 54, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the words “blindness or other”, in line 1.

SECTION 4. Said section 98 of said chapter 54, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following sentence:— A sufficient number of ballots in braille and large print shall be made available to voters suffering from blindness or poor vision.
