In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to candidate nomination papers.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 9 of Chapter 53 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end the following new sentence:-  A nomination paper shall be received by the state secretary and be valid if a candidate does not include a city or town in specifying his or her residence on said nomination paper pursuant to section eight of this chapter and if said nomination paper is otherwise in conformity with the law.
