An Act relative to election to the General Court.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

WHEREAS the deferred operation of this act would tender to defeat its purpose which is to regulate elections to the general court, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any candidate for election to the general court whose name appears on the ballot who dies prior to the date of election shall have all votes cast for such candidate counted as if such candidate had survived.
