In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act revising the penalty for improper use of parking areas reserved for the physically challenged.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 22A of Chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after clause “or by prohibiting the parking or standing of any vehicles in such a manner as to obstruct any curb ramp” the following clause:—“or designated area adjacent to any parking space restricted for use by the handicapped that is designed for temporary placement of a ramp or mechanical lift platform that allows entry or egress into any vehicle”.

SECTION 2. Section 22A of Chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out clause “not contain a penalty of less than $25 or in excess of $100” and inserting in place thereof the following clause:—“shall contain a penalty of $100”.
