In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the implementation of source water assessment plans.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section 49 of chapter 40 of the General Laws is hereby amended following the words “section thirty five of chapter forty-one” by inserting the words: a report by any private or public community water system which provides water to the residents of the town of the progress being made to implement the recommendations of a source water assessment if said assessment has been completed by the department of environmental protection for said community water system.

SECTION 2. Section 160 of Chapter 111 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting the following: Public and private water systems regulated by the department shall submit a report of the progress being made to implement the recommendations of a source water assessment if said assessment has been completed by the department for said community water system annually to the department and, in a town, to the board of selectmen for inclusion in the annual town report prepared pursuant to section forty-nine of chapter forty, or, in a city, to the city council, no later than January 1 each year.
