Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 113B of Chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “thereof” in line 9 of section 1 the following:-
Any automobile insurance policy subject to renewal between January 1, 2007 and March 31, 2007 shall automatically be subject to renewal as of April 1, 2007. Premium payments relating to periods of coverage beyond the shorter term shall be returned to customers. Consumers shall only pay for the period of the extra portion for which they have been paid. This shall be implemented by regulations promulgated by the commissioner of insurance.
