An Act to protect first party claimants from bad faith insurers.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Section 9(3) of Chapter 93A of the General Laws is amended by inserting after the words “amount of judgment” the following language:

“or the amount of an underinsured motorist or uninsured motorist arbitration award”
