In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to payment of auto damage claims.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Section 1.  Section 221 of Chapter 175 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following new paragraph:—
Notwithstanding the above, if verification of insurance coverage is given or a claim number is issued by an agent, broker or insurance company for a glass claim, including replacement of glass or glass products and the labor to install said glass or glass products, then such agent, broker or insurance company shall be obligated to pay said claim notwithstanding any fraud or non-payment of premium on behalf of the insured.
