In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act to prohibit the use of public funds for unnecessary neonatal circumcisions.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

   Chapter 118E of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2000 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after section 10A, the following new section:—
10A1/2.  The division shall not provide coverage for neonatal male circumcisions unless the circumcision is medically necessary after a physician’s diagnosis of pathology or physical deformity involving the recipient’s penile foreskin.
