An Act to require the division of medical assistance to reimburse hospitals for the costs of psychiatric patients on medical units.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.

The Division of Medical Assistance shall ensure that in cases where mentally ill patients are hospitalized on medical units, that the hospital shall be reimbursed for services provided at the Division’s standardized payment amount per discharge rate.
