In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act to ensure annual revue of the availability of college course materials for students who are visually impaired and students with disabilities.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section 30A of Chapter 69 shall be amended by adding at the end of the first paragraph the following paragraph:-- The board of higher education shall establish a committee to make recommendations to the Board in order to ensure that students who are visually impaired and students with disabilities have access to all college textbooks and other source-related materials in an accessible format. This committee shall be made up of three members appointed by the governor, three disability advocates appointed by the Board and three students who are enrolled in the state college system. Each member shall serve for a term of three years and for a maximum of two terms. The Committee shall make an annual recommendation to the Board with the intent of increasing access to college materials for students who are visually impaired and students with disabilities.
