In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act providing for intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  The commissioner of the department of mental retardation shall develop a plan to maintain intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded capacity at the Fernald State School, Glavin Regional Center at Shrewsbury, Hogan Regional Center, Monson Developmental Center, Templeton Developmental Center and Wrentham State School that will allow present residents of the facilities to remain as residents.  The plan shall include methods to consolidate buildings and services so that unneeded land may be declared surplus.
