In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the medical treatment of certain prisoners.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Chapter 127 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 117A the following section:-

 

Section 117B.  Whenever a prisoner is delivered to a court by a police officer, the officer‘s custody shall cease and if such prisoner requires medical or other similar professional treatment, it shall be the responsibility of court personnel to transfer such prisoner to an appropriate hospital or other medical facility.
