In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to parents convicted of the murder of a parent of their child.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.

                                Section 35 of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-

                A parent who has been convicted of murder in the first degree of the other parent of a child shall forfeit any and all parental rights to the child.
