In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 30 of chapter 266 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2004 Edition is hereby amended by inserting after the word “chattels”, in line 24, the following words:-- personal identifying information, as defined in subsection (a).
SECTION 2. Subsection (a) of section 37E of said chapter 266 ,as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “loss” , in line 16, the following words:-- or any person whose personal identifying information has been used without the express authorization of that person.
SECTION 3. Said section 37E of said chapter 266, as so appearing is hereby further amended by adding the following subsecton:--
(f) Any additional violations of section 30 committed as a result of violating this section, including, but not limited to, obtaining money, credit, goods, services, objects with a monetary value, identification cards or other evidence of such person’s identity may be prosecuted and punished in any county where the defendant had possession of property alleged to have been stolen or the county in which the victim of the violation resides.
