An Act increasing criminal sanctions for drug distribution near youth centers.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Section 32J of chapter 94C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition is hereby amended by inserting after the word “playground”, in line 7, the following words: - or youth center.

SECTION 2.  Said section 32J of said chapter 94C, as so appearing, is further amended by inserting after the first sentence the following sentence: - As used in this section, the term “youth center” shall mean a building which houses any organization, the activities of which are funded publicly, privately, or through a non-profit organization, the activities of which are funded publicly, privately or through a non-profit organization that provides after school recreational, educational or social activities primarily for youth in the community.
