In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to spousal assault and battery.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

   Chapter 218 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 26A the following section:-

 

   Section 26B.  In a trial for spousal assault and battery, the court shall not dismiss the charges upon request of the injured spouse if there are other witnesses to the matter available.
