In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the penalties for aiding or being present at an exhibition of fighting animals.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.

 

Section 95 of chapter 272 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking after the word “than” the first time it appears the following words:-  “two hundred and fifty dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one month, or both” and by inserting in place thereof the following words:  “$1,000 or by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than 5 years or imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 2 ½ years or by both such fine and imprisonment.”
