Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting section 172I the following section:-
Section 172J. Notwithstanding section 172, employers of livery drivers shall obtain all available criminal offender record and juvenile data as found in the court activity record information from the criminal history systems board of all drivers prior to employment. Information obtained under this section shall not be disseminated for any purpose other than the evaluation of prospective drivers.
SECTION 2. Section 11 of chapter 9 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “vehicle” in line 1 the following:- including livery drivers.
