 An Act relative to divorce.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section 34 of chapter 208 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2000 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:—
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, no award for alimony shall exceed in duration one-half the length of the marriage.
