 An Act relative to civil rights.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. This Act shall be known as the Civil Rights Act of 2007.

 

SECTION 2. Chapter 12 of the General Laws shall be amended by adding the following new section:

Section 12.  Equality under the law shall not be denied or abridged because of sex, race, color, sexual orientation, religion, or national origin.  This may be enforced by a proceeding brought pursuant to Sections 11I and 11J of this Chapter, or by any other proceeding available under the law.
