In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the Hampden Women's Modular Correctional Facility.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Whereas, the deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is forthwith to increase the appropriation for the completion of construction of the Hampden Women’s Modular Facility, therefore, it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

 

SECTION 1    Item 1102-7967 of section 2 of chapter 12 of the acts of 1996, as most recently amended by section 15 of chapter 300 of the acts of 2002, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “not less than fifteen million dollars shall be expended for the development of a one hundred and twenty-five cell women’s facility in Hampden county” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-   not less than $32,855,000 shall be expended for the development of a 181 cell women’s facility in Hampden county.

 

SECTION 2.  Said item 1102-7967 of said section 2 of said chapter 12, is hereby further amended by striking out the figure “$218,755,000”, inserted by section 8 of chapter 245 of the acts of 2002, and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $236,610,000.
