In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act further regulating workers compensation.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.           The third paragraph of subsection (5) of section 1 of chapter 152 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the  third sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:--The word “employer” should not include nonprofit entities, as defined by the Internal Revenue Code, that are staffed by volunteers, board members, directors, and paid employees.
