In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to substance abuse awareness.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.

 

Section1D of chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “prevention.” in line 32 the following sentence: -

 

These programs may be adjusted to reflect emerging trends of specific abuses of controlled substances as referred to in section 29 of chapter 94C as so appearing.

 

 

SECTION 2.

 

Section 29 of chapter 94C as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “substances,” in line 4, the following sentences: -

These programs may be updated to reflect emerging trends of specific substance misuses and abuses.  These programs may be made available to the public school system of the Commonwealth and the offices of the district attorneys in the Commonwealth in order that they may better educate the youth of the Commonwealth of the risks controlled substances may present.
