In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act providing for county advisory boards on economic development, regional planning, and intergovernmental relations.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

   Chapter 34 of the 1998 edition of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 14B, inserted by Chapter 197 of the Acts of 1987, the following section:—
   Section 14C. In any county which accepts this section by vote of the county commissioners, the chairman of the county commissioners shall appoint five members to an advisory board on economic development and regional planning. Each member to be appointed to three year terms. The first appointment to have staggered terms of one year, two years, and three years. The purpose of the advisory board in economic development and regional planning is to advise their county how cooperation between the county and cities and towns may be accomplished for the benefit of the citizens and cities and towns of the county.
