Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 30A of chapter 129 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1996 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following paragraph:—
A pet shop shall list on the cage of each dog the state of origin of the dog offered for sale. If a pup purchased from a pet shop dies of a medical condition within six months of purchase, the pet shop shall refund the full purchase price.
SECTION 2. Said chapter 129 is hereby further amended by inserting after section 39D the following section:—
Section 39E. The division shall establish a toll free number for the reporting of sick animals, which number shall be prominently displayed in all pet shops licensed under section 39A.
Failure to obtain said license will result in a fine of $5,000. Furthermore, said breeder will be issued an immediate cease and desist order until such time the proper license has been obtained, which may include an inspection of said breeders premises
