In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the PKU newborn screening fee.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Section 4E of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:—Not less than 10 per cent of the fee charged by the state laboratory to perform newborn testing for phenylketonuria will be allocated to this program, and these funds will be disbursed to the Commonwealth’s metabolic disorder clinic programs for the purpose of patient education and support or anything else deemed necessary by said clinic programs.
