 An Act relative to vision safety with eye glasses.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Public Health, and the Office of Consumer Affairs, in conjunction with, but not limited to, the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, shall develop a public service announcement to be placed on every pair of so-called over-the-counter or ready to wear reading eye glasses sold in the Commonwealth.  The public service announcement shall encourage purchasers to have an eye exam.
