In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act expanding the lead paint abatement loan program.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 197E of Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the words “the proportion of residents of low and moderate income” the following words –

               

“based on the federal poverty level.”

 

SECTION 2.  Section 197E of Chapter 111 of the General Laws is further amended by inserting at the end thereof the following paragraph –

 

Said regulations shall include provisions to permit applicants who are at or reasonably above the federal poverty level to be deemed eligible for such loans, provided they satisfy all other terms and conditions of this program’s regulations.

 

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
