In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or session law to the contrary, the special commission for the elimination of health care disparities as established in section 53 of chapter 65 of the session laws of 2004 shall serve as the health disparities council as set forth in section 16O chapter 58 of the acts of 2006. The current chairpersons of the special commission shall be the chairs of the health disparities council. The current members of the special commission shall serve as the members of the health disparities council. The chairpersons and members shall serve until January 7, 2009, whereupon they may either be re-appointed or replaced in accordance with the provisions of section 16O chapter 58 of the acts of 2006.
