An Act to increase the presence of dental hygienists on the board of registration in dentistry. . |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 19 of Chapter 13 of the Massachusetts General Laws is hereby amended by striking out line 1, and inserting in place thereof the following:--
“There shall be a board of registration in dentistry in the following 2 sections called the board, consisting of 11 persons, each of whom shall be a legal resident of the commonwealth, to be appointed by the governor, 6 of whom shall be graduates of a reputable dental college and be reputable dentists who have maintained a license to practice dentistry in the commonwealth for the 8 years next proceeding his appointment, 2 of whom shall be representatives of the public, subject to the provisions of section 9B, 3 of whom shall be a graduate of a reputable school of dental hygiene and a reputable dental hygienist who has maintained a license to practice dental hygiene in the commonwealth for the 5 years next proceeding his appointment.”
