In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act establishing a voluntary health records registry.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

   Chapter 28A of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 11A the following section:-

   Section llB.  There is hereby established a voluntary health records registry at the center for adoption research at the University of Massachusetts.  Said registry shall take information provided voluntarily from biological parents regarding family and parental health histories that can be updated at intervals and kept confidential. Said registry would allow adopted children and their progeny to take preventative health measurers according to their health history.
