In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to Aspergers Syndrome.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Instructing the Department of Public Health to develop a public education program about Asperger's Syndrome in Adults.  The Department will interact with Families of Adults Affected by Asperger's Syndrome (FAAAS), Incorporated and other groups to:

 

        *       Serve as a resource to disseminate information

 

        *       Develop training programs for professionals

 

        *       Identify progress by creating voluntary registries and programs

 

*       Study and evaluate the needs of families and caregivers of Adults with Asperger's Syndrome

 

        *       Identify needed services and support to families and caregivers of Adults with

                         Asperger's Syndrome

 

       *       Seek resources from the federal government for Asperger's Syndrome and related disabilities.
