An Act requiring safety belts for passengers on public school buses. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The first paragraph of section 7B of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, as amended by chapter 470 of the Acts of 1998, is hereby further amended by striking out clause (18), and inserting in place thereof the following two clauses:--
(18) Every school bus operated on any way shall be chassis model year 1990 or any subsequent model year;
(19) Every school bus acquired on or after the effective date of this act shall be equipped with a safety belt for each passenger thereof, and said passenger shall securely fasten his safety belt while traveling on said bus.
