An Act relative to the use of seat belts on school buses in the commonwealth. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 90 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 7B, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, the following section 7B ½:-
Section 7B ½. Any motor vehicle or school bus used to transport students, as defined in section one of chapter 90, under the age of five, shall be equipped with a seat belt for each permanent seating accommodation designed and installed in compliance with the United States motor vehicle department of transportation safety standards. Said seat belts shall be fastened about each passenger at all times during the operation of the vehicle or bus. All students shall be required to properly wear such seat belts at all times during said operation.
