Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 10A of Chapter 148 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding after the first paragraph the following new paragraph:-
“The head of the fire department in each city, town or fire district that accepts this provision shall assess a fee for providing “confined space” rescue services for certain construction jobs and projects as defined and required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The fee shall be set in a town by the board of selectmen or town council, or in a city by the mayor.”
