In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act allowing the release of police reports to schools.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section Thirty-Seventh and One Half of chapter 71 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding a new paragraph at the end thereof:—
“(3) At the request of the principal or headmaster of a school, or the superintendent upon the issuance of a criminal complaint charging a student with a felony or upon the issuance of a felony delinquency complaint against a student, or upon a student being convicted of a felony or upon an adjudication or admission in court of guilt with respect to such a felony or felony delinquency, the district attorney or the state police or local police department may provide a copy of such incident reports or police reports as document the underlying offense.”
